Welcome to Sherwood Sound Studios. The newly re-branded business model of the audio drama post-production company Everybodyelse Productions.
For the last 10 years, Everybodyelse Productions has been providing audio drama clients with high quality post-production services. These stories have gained critical acclaim and highly regarded as having some of the best sound design and music in the industry.
For example, in 2012 we worked with Big Finish on their BBC licensed epic 4-hour Doctor Who story UNIT: Dominion. This story was very successful with many reviews making note on our work in making this production sound like a big Hollywood blockbuster film but on audio! You can read behind-the-scenes material on the making of this story on our UNIT: Dominion release page. We have also worked with Bafflegab Productions on their dramatic audio stories with Hammer Films called Hammer Chillers. Realism and immersion was key with these to create an unsettling atmosphere and the entire collection was well received. In 2014, we produced our very first in-house audio drama, Osiris, continuing on the theme of quality over quantity to deliver fine, realistic sounding and immersive audio drama. The first story was released on CD and download in Dolby Pro Logic II surround sound from the original 5.1 surround sound mix. We didn’t expect great reviews for our premiere production, however, Starburst Magazine gave the release 7/10 saying;
Starting a company, creating a new concept and releasing a first product are all daunting tasks and the team deserves congratulation for this first entry in a series that has every chance of becoming a favourite.
2016 was difficult for the business. With delays and potential trade mark issues we had to cease the production of our faithful audio adaptation of H. G. Wells’ 1897 story The War of the Worlds, at least until the copyright expired at the end of the year. This gave us time to reassess the business and decide where we want to it to be in the next 5 years. Plans to re-brand began during the production of Osiris but it was decided at this point that the time wasn’t right. The downtime in the last half of 2016 gave us the perfect opportunity to set in motion our re-branding strategy and revitalise the business for the future.
The name Sherwood Sound Studios was an easy choice for our new business brand. It has our location, Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire, and our services in the audio field in the name. The design of the new logo was fairly easy to come up with and no Apprentice (BBC1) style brainstorming was required. It too gives an indication of what the business is about. The logo is essentially a sound wave, which is black or white depending on the background colour, and this wave forms three green Sherwood Forest trees. It’s simple and effective.
Please take a look around our new Sherwood Sound Studios website. We have a releases page containing all of our previous work and at the moment only Big Finish releases contain behind-the-scenes material. We will update other releases soon and notify interested listeners via social media. We are currently on Facebook and Twitter.
We have a new integrated online store for our in-house audio drama productions, only Osiris: Pilot is currently available until further notice, along with other products and an events page where we will detail any events we will be attending. Will will put up pre-ordering for our adaptation of The War of the Worlds shortly.
We are looking forward to a bright future for the business and we hope you will join us in being immersed in sound and seduced by music.
